What is C2PA?

C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) is a specification that uses signed manifests to describe the origin and editing history of digital content. Some image-generation and editing tools attach C2PA information to exported files.

Can you remove C2PA metadata?

AICleanify can remove supported metadata containers, including C2PA data, during browser-based cleaning. Successful batches also send reduced JPEG previews and usage data to AICleanify for statistics and history.

How to check C2PA in images?

Use a C2PA-compatible inspector or content-credentials viewer to examine an image before cleaning. AICleanify removes supported metadata fields but does not provide a pre-clean metadata inspection report.

Do ChatGPT images have metadata?

Some images exported by AI-generation tools can contain provenance or software metadata. The exact fields depend on the generator, export format, and any edits made after generation.

Can C2PA be faked or bypassed?

Metadata can be removed or changed, so its absence does not prove that an image came from a camera. Removing provenance information should not be used to misrepresent how an image was created.

Is it possible to remove watermarks from images?
